Sukkot
Sukkot is one of three pilgrimage festivals in which the Jews would journey to the Beit HaMikdash or Temple in Jerusalem. As with most Jewish holidays, Sukkot's complex blend of cultural, historical and religious aspects are multifaceted.
Sukkot is very much an Autumnal holiday which celebrates the Autumn harvest. Furthermore, Jews throughout the world build Sukkas, which remind us of the tenuous existence of our ancestors, after the Exodus from Egypt; Sukkas also reminds us of the on-going fragility of life, even during modern times.
Throughout the holiday, we bensch Lulav and Etrog, fulfilling the mitzvah of waving the four species as commanded in the Torah.
Come Celebrate Sukkot with Etz Chaim and Enjoy our New Sukkah!
(The old Sukkah was blown down by last year's storms!)
